Established in 1984 by founder Mick Sutton, the company has grown into a trusted name in the concreting industry. Today, it is run by the dynamic father-and-son team, Joe and Mark Sutton.

After working with Slate Crete (Qld) Pty Ltd t/a Mick Sutton Concreting, Joe acquired the company in 2019. His extensive experience includes thousands of projects across residential, commercial, defense, and government sectors, making him a skilled concreter, estimator, and business planner.

Mark Sutton

  • Joe Sutton, Director of Sutton Concreting, brings over 26 years of experience in project management and hands-on concreting.

    After working with Slate Crete (Qld) Pty Ltd t/a Mick Sutton Concreting, Joe acquired the company in 2019. His extensive experience includes thousands of projects across residential, commercial, defense, and government sectors, making him a skilled concreter, estimator, and business planner.

     

    Joe’s passion for construction began early in his career  working for a local design and production company  building trusses and frames.  Joe upskilled and rose through the ranks when starting with Mick Sutton Concreting as he learnt the trade from Mick.


    Joe has a keen eye for detail and his skills allowed him to become a go to person in Toowoomba for creating stunning decorative finishes. Joe upholds himself and the entire team to the highest standards of workmanship.


    Joe’s strengths are maintaining  relationships with longstanding clients, prioritising works and rewarding the loyalty of our existing client and following through on all actions he says he will when it comes to getting the project done.  

  • Mark Sutton became a director of Mick Sutton Concreting (now Sutton Concreting) in January 2024.

    Mark brings with him 15 years in the construction industry and is a trade qualified carpenter. He has worked as a carpenter across commercial and residential sites, including being the operations manager for a local construction company prior to making the move to concreting.


    Mark's experience helped build a wealth of knowledge about the end to end process of a project, including  a strong understanding of approvals and engineering requirements.


    Mark was exposed to concreting at a young age and gained experience from his father, Joe, which helped him create a diverse approach to understanding projects.


    Marks strengths lay in his ability to build and form strong connections with builders and create a collaborative approach to get the job done. He has a passion for training the next generation of tradesman and takes pride in his work at all times.
